Bowen Hospital has capacity for 29 beds and provides general medicine services, 24 hour emergency care, oncology and palliative care. Several allied health services are offered at the hospital in addition to clinics and visiting specialist services such as mental health, paediatrics, respiratory, orthopaedic, endocrinology, women's health, fracture and antenatal/postnatal services. Community health services are provided from the hospital. Telehealth is utilised for many other specialist services reducing the requirement for patients to travel to tertiary Centres. Partnerships with universities provide Medical, Nursing and Allied Health undergraduate clinical placements.
